Welcome to the Website for Interreg Project Crossing Borders (Grensevandring).
Since the early nineteenth century, nearly two million people have emigrated from Sweden and Norway to America. During the same period, thousands
of Swedes crossed the border seeking employment in Norway. These two streams of migration are the basis of the project Crossing Borders. However
migration is not a closed chapter. It continues today, and the present migration into Sweden and Norway has many parallels in the historical movement
of our two countries.
17-18 march 2011: Projekt Crossing Borders arranges a conference at Voksenåsen in Oslo, Norway. This is the last big event in the project. The title of the conference is: "International cooperation regarding digital archives: Potential, money and problems" Read program>> (in Swedish).
There will be papers presented from all over the Nordic countries and Europe in a very interesting combination. The conference is open for everyone, sign up now. Welcome!
